Low Yellow Belt One-Steps

As with the white belt one-steps, the is always a step forward to punch with the front hand. This time, the defenses are more aggressive since they generally move in towards the attacker rather than backing away.

Defense #1

  1. Knock the incoming punch aside with a mirror side front kick

  2. Front kick to the torso with the other leg

  3. Land in a closed front stance and back hand punch to the torso

  4. Front hand punch to the face


Defense #2

  1. Knock the incoming punch aside with a cross-body inside crescent kick.

  2. Drop the foot down and then pick it up again to deliver a stationary side kick to the ribs.

  3. Land, then pivot around the front foot into a riding stance with the back to the attacker

  4. Backwards elbow strike to the ribs

  5. Backwards backfist strike to face


Defense #3

  1. Step forward with into closed back stance, blocking with the front hand out forearm block so that the attacker's arm is across their body

  2. Back hand punch then front hand punch to the ribs

  3. Front leg roundhouse kick to the torso

  4. Land and knife hand strike to the back of the neck


Defense #4

  1. Surprise front kick with the opposite leg from attacker's punch

  2. Land in riding stance facing towards attacker's arm

  3. Front block across attacker's arm to drive it away

  4. Use the same hand to backfist strike to the head


Defense #5

  1. Step forward and to the outside of the punch into a riding stance using a palm block to push the attacker's arm away

  2. Two punches to the ribs

  3. A third punch to the face

  4. Using the back leg, roundhouse kick to the stomach

  5. Land behind the attacker in back stance and backfist strike to the back of the head
