High Yellow Belt Techniques and Exercises

The first set of techniques and exercises. This is the only one which employs the inside crescent kick.

Techniques

  1. Attack: Back leg front kick
    Defense: Step back and low block with front hand
    Counter-attack: Back hand punch

  2. Attack: Back leg inside crescent kick
    Defense: Step back and duck
    Counter-attack: Front leg front kick and back hand punch

  3. Attack: Back leg roundhouse kick
    Defense: Step back and double forearm block
    Counter-attack: Front leg roundhouse kick and back hand punch

  4. Attack: Back leg side kick
    Defense: Step back and sweep to the side with a front hand low block
    Counter-attack: front leg side kick


Exercises

  1. Attack: Step forward twice, front hand punch each time
    Defense: Step back twice, front block each time

  2. Attack: Back leg front kick twice
    Defense: Step back and low block twice

  3. Attack: Back leg inside crescent kick twice
    Defense: Step back and duck twice

  4. Attack: Back leg roundhouse kick twice
    Defense: Step back and double forearm block twice

  5. Attack: Back leg side kick twice
    Defense: Step back and sweeping low block twice


End

Attacker does two punches which defender blocks. Then defender does two punches which attacker blocks.
