High Green Belt Techniques and Exercises

For these and all future techniques and exercises, the attacker will be using a sliding kick. The order of kicks will always be front, roundhouse, side, hook. For the first two techniques, the defender will slide back. For the third and fourth techniques, the defender will step 45º to the open side.

Techniques

After the defender is finished for each attack, both students will have to jump switch to the other side.

  1. Attack: Sliding front kick
    Defense: Slide back and low block with front hand
    Counter-attack: Back hand punch

  2. Attack: Sliding roundhouse kick
    Defense: Slide back and double forearm block
    Counter-attack: Front leg front kick and back hand punch

  3. Attack: Sliding side kick
    Defense: Step back 45º to attacker's open side
    Counter-attack: Front leg roundhouse kick and back hand punch

  4. Attack: Sliding hook kick
    Defense: Step back 45º to attacker's open side
    Counter-attack: Front leg side kick


Exercises

Unlike the high yellow belt exercises, each attack only happens once on the left side. There is no switching stances. The two students simply move back and forth taking turns attacking and defending.

  1. Attack: Slide forward horizontal backfist strike
    Defense: Slide backwards, out forearm block

  2. Attack: Sliding front kick
    Defense: Slide back, low block

  3. Attack: Sliding roundhouse
    Defense: Slide back, double forearm block

  4. Attack: Sliding side kick
    Defense: Slide back, sweeping low block to the side

  5. Attack: Sliding hook kick
    Defense: Slide back, duck


End

Attacker does one punch which defender blocks. Then defender does one punch which attacker blocks.
